SCCA Texas Region Solo March 16, 2008 at Pennington Field, Bedford, TX. Fun
event and a bit of a long day. But, the course was fun, though only
having 3 runs was a disappointment. It was good seeing all the
"slimmer, trimmer" folks after the winter "Ditch the
Spare Tire" contest. Congrats to the winners and everyone
else that lost weight. It was kinda weird being at a SCCA Solo and
not seeing Tom
"Ramjet" Ramey's smiling face helping a novice or telling
a story about when he was driving at a Solo event in past years. Tom was a fixture at Solo events in the DFW area and other parts of
Texas. He passed away in January. He was a great man and
will be missed. I was
experimenting with the Nikon. I had the f/Stop up in the 16 to 20
range to slow down the shutter speed to the 1/50 to 1/120 range. The clouds blowing through made it hard to get the lighting just
right. And, the wind, combined with the slow shutter speeds made
it tough to get a good shot unless I panned the camera just perfectly
with the varying speeds of the cars. Anyway, there are 225
pictures. Pics 1 - 33 are from Saturday at the school and the rest

I try to get pictures of as many cars as possible and/or things I find funny or interesting, I also experiment with different camera perspectives and multi-shot sequences. If I missed your car, it was not on purpose. I get shots as I can while I am working my regular duties at the events and trying to race a car. Also, I am not a professional photographer; I do this because I enjoy taking pictures and this is why I post the 640X480 (and larger) versions free without any watermarks. I now charge for larger resolution/formats of the pictures I take to help pay for the cost of the pictures/equipment and the site. | ||||||||
